Shared Ownership Week, running from October 20 – 26th 2014, is a fantastic opportunity for you to find out more about Shared Ownership and how you can get ‘PricedIn’ to the property market with L&Q.

Backed by the GLA, in line with The Mayor’s First Steps programme and affordable housing strategy for the capital, you will have plenty of opportunities to talk to the experts and answer all your Shared Ownership questions. We’ll also provide more information on current and upcoming schemes we have available to first time buyers across London and the South East. Established in 1963 and now managing over 70,000 homes, L&Q is one of the largest and longest standing housing associations so don’t miss this great opportunity to find out more.

What does Shared Ownership mean?

Designed as a stepping stone to owning your own home, Shared Ownership gives homebuyers the opportunity to purchase a share of a property whilst renting the remaining share they don’t own. In time, purchasers have the option to increase the share they own; this is known as Staircasing.

Lucy Chitty, Assistant Director Sales, comments: “In the current economic climate it is more important than ever to raise awareness of Shared Ownership and its benefits for first time buyers in London. So many Londoners are paying monthly rents that can work out higher than the cost of owning a home through Shared Ownership.”

What has L&Q got planned throughout the week?

  • Throughout the week there will be various Shared Ownership clinics popping up all over town, including our very own on Friday, October 24th at Greenwich Square. We are inviting anyone who is interested in finding out more about Shared Ownership Week and what Shared Ownership is all about to drop into our marketing suite at Greenwich Square to speak with our expert sales team and talk through the eligibility and sales processes. We’ve even got some goodies to give away too!
  • Shared Ownership supplements will be running throughout the week so keep an eye out in the Metro, Evening Standard, Timeout, City AM and The Wharf for more information.
  • There is lots of activity planned across our social media platforms too, including a Vine series from one of our Mortgage Advisors, Helen Wyles.
  • If you haven’t already done so, check out our Facebook and Twitter pages to keep up to date with the week’s events. Our YouTube channel also provides lots of useful videos about Shared Ownership and the schemes we have available.

Don’t delay; get on the property ladder with L&Q today!
