Shared Ownership Week is a national campaign to raise awareness of Shared Ownership and the benefits for first time buyers.

When: Monday 5th October until Sunday 11th October 2015.

This is the largest campaign of its type and is sponsored by Zoopla and the National Housing Group. As L&Q is one of the leading housing associations, we will be showcasing our developments alongside other partners, including; Guinness, Notting Hill, East Thames, Newlon, Southern, Viridian, Hyde and Circle.

Olivia Scrimshaw, Marketing Director from L&Q and spokesperson for the campaign comments: “The gap continues to rise between house prices and salaries so it is no wonder that first time buyers need all the help they can find when trying to get a foothold on the property ladder. For many buyers, the assistance offered through affordable home ownership schemes is the only way they can become a homeowner. However there is still quite a lot of confusion about how Shared Ownership works and who is eligible, so we hope that through Shared Ownership Week we can spread the message about the benefits of the scheme and show more first time buyers how it can help them.”

Shared Ownership Week provides a great opportunity to raise awareness and promote the scheme across the UK. There are many myths and misconceptions surrounding Shared Ownership and one of the aims of the campaign is to clarify these. We have launched a ‘Myth Busting series’ which feature our Shared Ownership homeowners discussing and debunking the top four myths.

As one of the leading partners we will be driving media coverage with features in The Metro, Evening Standard, Timeout and City AM. We’ve also got a host of online activity planned including adverts and editorial to increase awareness.
