Shared Ownership application checklist

1. Complete the L&Q Shared Ownership eligibility form

First and foremost, you will need to complete our application form before you can register your interest in our properties. The form will take around 20 minutes to complete, and you’ll be notified of your eligibility within 3 to 5 working days.

It will ask you things such as:
– Your personal details
– Annual household income and savings
– Financial commitments

Please have this information ready to help make your application easier. You can save and return to your application later on if you need to.

You will receive an L&Q Shared Ownership application number (e.g. LQSO987654) after completing your application. Once your eligibility has been confirmed, you’ll use this number throughout the home buying process.

2. Apply with your local Help to Buy agent

If you’re buying a home outside of London, you’ll also need to apply with your local Help to Buy agent.

A few days after completing your registration, the Help to Buy agent will email you to confirm if you are eligible. Both L&Q and the Help to Buy agent must confirm your eligibility before you can begin the home buying process.

You’ll need to quote both your LQSO and Help to Buy registration number when contacting the sales team or booking a viewing.

3. Register your interest in individual properties

Following a successful outcome from your eligibility application you will need to register your interest in our properties. The property form takes less than a minute to complete, and it ensures that you receive an email alert when property prices go live or launches are announced. You need to repeat this process for every property you’re interested in.

There may be specific eligibility criteria – such as where you currently live or work – for the property you’re interested in. Make sure you familiarise yourself with these requirements before registering your interest.

4. Arrange a viewing of your chosen property

Once a property has been launched, you will be able to book an appointment to view the development and one of our show homes. Check the property page or the launch email to find out how to get in touch with our sales team.

Remember, you’ll need to have completed your application and been approved as eligible before you can view or reserve any property.
